Governance and partnerships at the core of Bocconi’s first Masterclass on Urban Regeneration

On September 25th, 2025, Bocconi University hosted the inaugural Masterclass of the series “Regenerating the City: strategies and tools to manage transformations and create value”, focusing on “Governance models and partnership in urban regeneration”.
Academics and professionals provided valuable insights into governance and coordination of urban regeneration projects, with a particular emphasis on public-private collaboration.
The program was structured into three thematic sessions:
- An introductory overview of the concept of urban regeneration and its contribution to sustainable development, through the analysis of international and European policies;
- An in-depth focus on Public-Private Partnership models applicable to regeneration projects;
- The presentation of innovative case studies and collaborative strategies that have already been tested in various urban contexts.
The Masterclass offered participants the opportunity to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of governance in complex urban transformations, while engaging with practical examples and case studies.
