MUSA at Expo Osaka 2025

On May 30–31, 2025, the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will welcome “4UniverCity Futures – The City of the Future”, a two-day international workshop dedicated to advancing urban sustainability through the lens of university-led innovation. The event is promoted under the framework of MUSA (Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action), part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). It represents a strategic occasion to present the excellence of Italian research to an international audience.

Over two days, the workshop will explore the strategic role of universities in urban transformation and regeneration processes, with a special focus on Milan.

On Friday, May 30, during the session titled “The MUSA Project for the Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability of Milan’s University Districts”, Professor Edoardo Croci, SUR Lab Director at Bocconi University, will present the results of the research conducted by Bocconi’s team. 

The event will bring together academic leaders, policymakers, and urban stakeholders to discuss scalable models for future cities. With contributions from institutions, local governments, and businesses, “4UniverCity Futures” aims to foster a meaningful exchange on how knowledge and research can shape the cities of tomorrow.
