The fourth episode of Città in transizione, the special series of Will Media’s Città podcast produced in collaboration with the SUR Lab of Bocconi University as part of the MUSA - SPOKE 1 project, is now available.

How can cities transform their spaces, services and decision-making processes to accelerate the climate transition? How can they reconcile mitigation and adaptation while making urban transformation more inclusive, effective and locally grounded? And what role can participatory design play in this process?

In this new episode, Professor Edoardo Croci, SUR Lab director, and Francesca Rizzo, Full Professor at the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano and an expert in participatory design, examine some of the most relevant projects emerging from the New European Bauhaus, with a focus on how design, collaboration and experimentation can support more sustainable and resilient urban futures. The episode also looks at concrete experiences from Leuven, Milan and Valencia, highlighting how European cities are testing new approaches to climate action through public spaces, governance innovation and citizen engagement.

Città in transizione takes listeners on a journey through Italian and European cities that are developing innovative solutions to reduce emissions and adapt to the climate crisis. Through data, stories and expert analysis, the series explores the challenges of mitigation and adaptation, and how urban areas are becoming key laboratories for the ecological transition.
